After the wonderful LGC meeting at Woolford mansion—exquisite molding—what a treat. And Jennie gave a short overview of the history of Emory Village—remember the Kroger or the cinema? We found Halloween going up on Springdale. All silvery and perhaps scary also. And a puff ball mushroom up despite the dry. What will be left in the spring after this hot dry and long summer.

Incredible Joro spider web sans spider? Surely it did not abandon such a beautiful piece of work. A splash of wonderful vibrant color from SunPatiens. Improved cultivars sometimes just wonderful. And a swath of pollinator attractors—insects all applauding I am sure.
National Garden Clubs, Inc has certified Lullwater Conservation Garden as a Pollinator Garden.
From the National Garden Clubs, Inc. website "National Garden Clubs President Brenda Moore wants to encourage NGC members to make our gardens more than just beautiful. That’s why she created the National Garden Clubs Pollinator Garden Certification program. Our gardens can support birds, bees and other insects, and this program provides the incentive to take additional steps to make sure we’re providing all the components to help pollinators thrive."

Today we walked through the Lullwater Conservation Garden, Pink Perfection, one of my mother’s favorite camellias is blooming - a bit early and seemingly not bothered by the very cold few days we had. You must try your luck at finding the fairies made by Sue Sullivan - my granddaughters found four - and Julianna recorded where in her journal.
Project Figleaf
All loaded up with a donation of clothing and toiletries from members of Lullwater Garden Club. These items are headed to The Dekalb Federation of Garden Clubs, who will take this donation along with donations from other garden clubs to Georgia Regional Hospital.

Get out and walk while the weather is so wonderful. Holiday decorations are rapidly going up. Larger every year. But there are small flowers blooming along the sidewalks. See what you can find—and clear your mind for the business and stress to come.
This reminded me of the flickering leaf shadows on sidewalks during the last full eclipse. And there are small beautiful roses blooming.

Rainy Day Basket for the fund raiser at Callanwolde—DeKalb Federation of Garden Clubs. Risë had such a great idea for our contribution this year. Twelve of you wracked your brains and came up with great contributions. Thank you from Renie and Nan.
Today we really did have some rain, but we found a dry time and walked. Old limb on The By Way in Trisha’s side yard. Beautiful colors.

No need to venture far—look at your own yard. This very early spring has our yards bursting with flowers. Look and wonder as butterflies and bees begin to dine on the wealth of early pollen. Pictures from my front yard—azalea in full bloom and a lawn full of violets. The squirrels are busy aerating while searching for hidden acorns
